Remove Text from Homepage

Post by shane50 »

Where do I find this (text listed below) at to remove it from the homepage/login page? Thank you for you help. I like the program, however, this just looks unprofessional and needs to be removed.

"To change these words please go to Admin/Language management, search for login and edit the key _INTRO_STD_TEXT"

Hello Shane and welcome to the forum.

Well, the text string you are quoting already tells you everything you need to know, that's why it's there.... :-)

It's not unprofessional, it's there to help first-time administrators know where they can customize their new Lms.

Go to Administration>main>language>language management and search for login, then edit that exact key by either removing everything or inserting whatever text you might like... (i.e.: welcome to XXX Learning Management System, here you will find ........ etc.)

Shane, it's 1 cm below from where your mouse is, according to your screenshot.... Don't you see "language"?
Exactly where I said it was?
You are already under Administration, and you are already under "main".
Administration>main>language>language management

I think I understand now. Thank you for your assistance and patients. :D

I kept going to Language / Language Management, but here is the issue and why it was difficult to understand. When you go to Administration>main>language>language management their isn't a Search option. Their is one additional step. You have to click Translate next before being able to locate search bar. While trying to figure out where this text was, I searched the web for those exact words and was surprised as how many people have their Forma LMS running with that unchanged.

And I also inserted the wrong image of the first post... I am sure you were shaking your head when you saw that... Sorry...

:-)
So you have a webcam in my office and you were watching me shaking my head, I suppose

Anyway, glad you solved. I didn't specify the additional step "translate".

And you're also right: around the web, there are many Forma Lms installations with the default text. I suppose they are just to try the Lms, but it's amazing how many of them are there. It's like having a blog with the default "Hello World" blog post and nothing else.

Now that you've got this simple mechanism: you can translate (i.e. modify) almost anything. Once you are inside the language you want to change, the searchbox searches all around the Lms. So, if some piece of text bothers you, just look for it inside the English language and change it.
