Safe Mode

Hello

I just upgraded to 1.4.1.

When I checked system configuration, the server configuration returned safe_mode off in RED.

Is it absolutely essential to turn safe_mode ON?

I was under the impression that safe_mode was not recommended for php in general - or maybe it was being phased out. Cannot remember, sorry.

Any advice?

Safe_mode check is an OLD security check .
forma.lms runs fine with safe_mode enabled or disabled, If enabled, you must check if files owner in your installation are properly setup.

safe_mode support was dropped by PHP in version 5.4 .
