I am trying to change the text that is located under the 'News' section of the home page (login page). I cannot seem to edit it through the external content option. Where can I make this change? Thanks!

In the admin panel under Main->Languages->Translate-> then find Key _INTRO_STD_TEXT. That should be the text you want to edit.

Yes, You're right Kentraub.
The text on the home page is exactly there.
