Hello,

I configured Forma LMS with local mailing initially.
Now I want to switch to an external SMTP server.

Following https://www.formalms.org/reference-guid ... ation.html,
I changed
$cfg['use_smtp_database'] =
$cfg['use_smtp'] =
to "on" in my config.php.

But I do not get the configuration tab.. how can I enable it?

It seems you have upgraded your forma instance from an old version, didn't you?
If so, I'm afraid you're missing some options in the db.

yes the instance was upgraded multiple times.

I also tried to fill out all fields for SMTP in the config.php, but mails are still sent directly via Postfix.

You post sounds like there was something missing in one upgrade... I always followed the instructions and there were no errors.
How can I correct this behaviour?

I'm aware of some customers with the same problem. I solved it upgrading the db manually, but I can't say where your instance is missing the fields/values.
One should be on your instance to compare your db structure and data with a fresh install of the version you're running.
