Please explain: Certificate criteria

Post by forrestad »

Hello. I'm new to Forma LMS and evaluating it to see if it will fit my organization's needs. I am impressed by the work done by the developers in many areas. I could use some help understanding some parts of the Forma LMS system. I only have access to Forma version 2.3 at this time. But, please if features have been added to version 2.4.2, please feel free to describe how the functional requirement can be met by the software.

QUESTION:
On the Course > Certificate Release page, what is the difference between the columns "Certificate release" and "Certificate assignment for Excellence?"

How would I send a certificate to a student who had 1) visited/completed every required page within a course, or 2) completed all required learning objects and also achieved a minimum course score?

One is simply passing. Like you have pass mark of 50%. another is for excellent result. Like someone got 80-90% etc. More like certify for top tier students.

Thank you for the kind response!

So, if I understand correctly: both are based on scores received (test/quiz scores, instructor-entered scores) -- just two different score thresholds. Neither certificate is released simply upon viewing all the pages in the course.

This is helpful to know. Please let me know if my understanding needs further refinement.

One is based on an event. The other (excellence) is based on score.
